Our Core Principle: Your private files stay private. All encryption and decryption happens locally on your device. We never have access to your hidden photos, videos, or documents.

Your PIN code (stored securely using Android Keystore encryption)
Security question and answer (encrypted locally)
Hidden media files (photos, videos, documents) encrypted with AES-256
App lock preferences and locked app list
App settings and preferences

Important: This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Information Collected Automatically

Anonymous crash reports and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics)
Anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience
Device information (model, OS version) for compatibility purposes
Advertising ID for personalized ads (can be reset in device settings)

Data Security

🛡️ Military-Grade AES-256 Encryption

We implement industry-leading security measures to protect your data:

All hidden files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption
Encryption keys are stored in Android Keystore (hardware-backed on supported devices)
PIN codes are securely hashed and never stored in plain text
Biometric data is processed by your device's secure enclave, never by our app
No cloud storage - all sensitive data remains on your device

Zero-Knowledge Architecture: We have designed Gallery Lock so that we cannot access your hidden content even if we wanted to. Your privacy is mathematically guaranteed.

Third-Party Services

Gallery Lock uses the following third-party services:

Google AdMob

We display advertisements to support free access to our app. AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics

We use Firebase services to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This helps us improve app performance and fix issues quickly. No personal or sensitive data is shared with Firebase.

Permissions We Request

Storage Access: Required to hide and encrypt your photos, videos, and documents
Camera (Optional): Only if you choose to take photos directly within the app
Biometric: To enable fingerprint/face unlock for added convenience
Usage Access: Required for App Lock feature to detect when protected apps are opened
Display Over Apps: Required to show the lock screen when protected apps are launched
Notifications: To show App Lock service status

Data Retention

Your hidden files and settings are stored on your device until you choose to delete them or uninstall the app.

Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all hidden files and settings
Anonymous analytics data is retained in accordance with Firebase Analytics data retention policies
Crash reports are retained in accordance with Firebase Crashlytics data retention policies

Warning: If you forget your PIN and cannot answer your security question, there is no way to recover your hidden files. We do not have access to your encryption keys.

Children's Privacy

Gallery Lock is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access all your data stored within the app
Delete your data by uninstalling the app or using the restore function
Opt out of personalized advertising through device settings
Disable analytics collection (contact us for instructions)
Request information about data we may have collected

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Effective Date" above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
